Albeit a bit difficult for me to sniff without getting some scratching my throat, I really love the complexity of the bouquet of aromas that St. James Parish blend brings to your nose.
For me it’s a heavier, muskier smell that has some kind of earthy, leathery hints to it in the best of ways. I find myself going back to this can every other pinch.
The texture and color is fantastic too. It’s fine but not overly so, soft, not too dry…
It’s expensive but you can definitely feel how much thought and care goes into creating SJP so it’s very worth it IMO.
St. James Parish Blend is a fine mix of 3 types of Virginia leaf, Punjabi Rustica and the Louisiana specialty Perique. The tin note is wonderfully sweet from the Virginias and there is a slight whiff of vinegar from the Perique. The Virginias are tangy and fruity and actually being an avid Red Man Original chewer this smells and tastes quite similar - I would attribute it to the Virginias and nothing else. The Rustica seems to add some strength and body, but doesn't interfere with the main stars of the show. Color is medium brown and the grind is also medium. The quality of tobaccos used in all the SWS are fantastic and it's amazing what Johnny Scott pulls out of these naturally with no added casings. It is somewhat similar to the Fifty-Fifty but less in your face with the vinegar punch and fruity notes, and seems a bit more toned down and balanced. Be warned - these are very moreish and won't last long. A fine blend.
This has been my favorite snuff. I love it. Unfortunately something has changed. Don’t know what, but it’s a totally different product now. I asked Mrsnuff about and they said they would ask the manufacturer, but I’ve never heard anything back. This product is expensive. Especially when you’re buying the 50 gram tin. Used to be the best, but now it sucks and I will not buy again sadly until I hear some explanation.
Weirdly, Lundy Foot is also TOTALLY different now

El nombre es por el Perique que contiene. También contiene Virginia y Punjabi Rustica.
Opinión personal:
El aroma del Perique está buen sutil al igual que el Virginia. Da la impresión de ser tostado, quizás por el Perique. Fácil de tomar.

The scent is of tobacco complexity. Once snuffed it gives just bit of burn that quickly dissipates to a beautiful symphony of of tobacco flavor's, With a ever so slight sweet barnyard under tone. It's a five star master blend and least I mention a killer Nic hit that lingers on into the night.
